The book grew out of patterns she kept noticing — not one dramatic moment. While working as a barista she had several conversations with partners of sports fans, and sports fans themselves. The same tensions kept surfacing: feeling sidelined during game seasons, struggling to communicate needs, and not having language for what was actually happening beneath the surface. Soccer wasn’t the real issue. Disconnection was.
Her work blends emotional intelligence, humor, and practical relationship tools — without asking anyone to care more about sports or less about themselves. The focus is on clarity, boundaries, and shared understanding, not winning arguments or changing partners.
Loving a Soccer Fan is the first in an illustrated guide series focused on navigating relationships shaped by passion, identity, and modern life. Future editions will expand to other sports and cultural obsessions, shaped by reader feedback and lived experience.
